Sometimes it is helpful to be able to schedule the opening and closing to submissions for specific reading periods. Moksha enables you to do that. To use this feature, follow these steps:
- Navigate to your Submission Type and click “Edit” to go into edit mode.
- Click on the “Submission Periods” tab.
- Click on the “Add Submission Schedule” button and chose the action (open, close, or archive to submissions), the time to begin, and if the schedule repeats. You can choose for the schedule to repeat every number of days, on a specific day of the week (e.g. Thursday), or on a certain day of the month (e.g. the 12th of the month).
- Click “Add” to save.
- The schedule will run once or repeat based on your schedule. To delete the scheduled submission period, just click the small “X” to the right of the schedule.
- You can always see when the next schedule will run on your Submission Periods tab:
- When the automatic scheduler is activated, the editor(s) of the submission type (configured in the submission type settings) will be notified by email of the change.
Important Considerations
Note that Moksha will use the timezone you have configured in your user profile.
Note also that if you schedule the submission type to open and the parent publication is closed or archived, the parent publication will open automatically at the specified time.
When visitors view the submission type page, and if there is an upcoming submission period scheduled, a message will be displayed informing them of the pending change. E.g.:
Moksha will detect the user’s timezone, and display the scheduled date using their local time, for convenience.
